Jury finds Stephen Brown guilty of murder, kidnapping in gruesome 2017 North Shore killing
After less than a day of deliberations, a jury on Friday found Stephen Brown guilty of murder and kidnapping in the gruesome 2017 killing of Telma Boinville at a North Shore vacation rental. Brown was found guilty of murder, two counts of kidnapping and burglary.
HFD: 77-year-old man killed in large blaze at Aiea highrise
The two-alarm blaze started about 11:30 a.m. at 98-099 Uao Pl., the Lele Pono Condo. The blaze also appears to have damaged several additional apartments, though a full accounting of the damage was not immediately available.

New federal law to boost Indigenous language schools and programs
The Native American Language Resource Center Act will create a program in the U.S. Dept. of Education. It will support these resource centers, which are tasked with revitalizing Indigenous languages and developing a curriculum, as well as other resources. The measure was introduced by U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz and signed into law earlier this month.
