NTSB: Cloud shot up in front of plane before turbulence

HONOLULU — A cloud shot up vertically like a plume of smoke in a matter of seconds before a Hawaiian Airlines flight last month hit severe turbulence and 25 people on board were injured, according to a preliminary report Friday by the National Transportation Safety Board.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Flag-waving admirers lined the sidewalk outside the National World War II Museum in New Orleans on Wednesday to greet the oldest living survivor of the Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor as he marked his upcoming 105th birthday.

Charges won’t be refiled against TMT protesters

The Hilo Ball Stars played the Wreckers White in a T-ball tournament at the University of Hawaii at Hilo on Saturday evening. The two-day tournament was hosted by the UH-Hilo baseball team as a way to give young Big Island baseball players the opportunity to play on a college field.
