“The History of Ka‘u Coffee” is presented by the Ka‘u Coffee Festival and Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, with videography by Ruslan Kuznetsov and Hawaiian music by the Keaiwa band of Ka‘u.

Hawaiʻi Senate committee releases public briefings schedule for state budget

The Hawaiʻi State Senate Committee on Ways and Means released its 2023 informational briefings schedule regarding the state budget, with more than 20 briefings to be held between Jan. 10 and 24.

The purpose of these briefings is to provide the space for state and county agencies to present their budget requests to the Ways and Means committee prior to the start of the 2023 legislative session.

Search continues for missing swimmer off ‘Anini Beach on Kauaʻi

Multiple agencies continue their search for a missing California man who was apparently swept out to sea while swimming at ‘Anini Beach on Kauaʻi.

On Sunday afternoon, 56-year-old Prakash Shroff of California was reportedly swimming with two family members shortly after 1 p.m. when they became distressed. Two individuals made it safely back to shore with the assistance of bystanders, but Shroff could not be located.
