The 15th Annual Wahine Forum this week Wednesday, October 26 and Thursday, October 27. This year’s theme is LIMITLESS. Local wahine will share their stories about overcoming adversity and pushing past boundaries, both external and those we place on ourselves.
Director of Astronaut & Customer Experience, Blue Origin
Sarah Phelps is passionate about creating one-of-a-kind and life-changing customer experiences. Sarah is currently developing out-of-this-world experiences as the Director of Astronaut and Customer Experience for Blue Origin, a spaceflight company located in Kent, Washington. Prior to Blue Origin, Sarah was the Director of Member Services for Yellowstone Club, a private ski and golf resort in Big Sky, Montana.

Sage Ke’alohilani Quiamno is an award-winning entrepreneur, speaker, and changemaker. She is a nationally-recognized diversity, equity, and inclusion leader at Amazon Prime Video & Studios in global media & entertainment. Both personally and professionally, Sage is relentlessly committed to intersectional social justice, advocacy for communities of color, the LGBTQIA+ community, and pay equity. Her work has been recognized in Forbes, Fast Company, & Entrepreneur Magazine. She is a proud Native Hawaiian, originally from the island of Oʻahu, who looks at systems, processes, and people with indigenous sense to create a world of equity and belonging.
Head Coach, Women’s Wrestling, University of Iowa and Olympic Medalist
Hawaiʻi-born Clarissa Chun is the first head coach in the history of the University of Iowa. She joins the Iowa women’s wrestling program from USA Wrestling, where she was an assistant coach on the women’s national team from 2017-21. Chun helped lead the United States to 17 World medals, including seven gold, four silver and six bronzes, as well as an Olympic gold, Olympic silver and two Olympic bronzes. Prior to being hired at USA Wrestling, Chun was among the most accomplished athletes in international wrestling. A two-time Olympian, she took fifth at the 2008 Beijing Games before earning a bronze medal at the 2012 London Games, competing at 48 kg. Chun wrestled at five Senior World Championships, which included a gold-medal performance at the 2008 Worlds in Tokyo. She also competed at the 2000, 2009, 2011 and 2012 World Championships. During her career, Chun won five U.S. Open titles. Chun was inducted in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Member in June, 2022. She is one of only four females bestowed Distinguished Member honors.

This year’s Wahine Forum includes a special kickoff event at Hawaiʻi Theatre on Oct. 26 from 5:00 – 7:30 PM. and a full-day conference at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Oct. 27 from 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
Online registration for the full-day conference ends on October 26 at 8:00 PM.
