This is a COVID-19 informational update for Monday, January 17th.

For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 254 new cases, 4,448 active cases, and 42 persons hospitalized.

Positive cases continue to be elevated. Mahalo for doing your part to protect yourself, your family, and your community from coronavirus. Preventive measures of wearing face coverings, distancing, disinfecting your hands, limiting and avoiding gatherings, staying home, especially when sick, and vaccinating are encouraged by the CDC.

If you feel sick or believe you may have been exposed to a positive case, please get tested.

The next community test events are scheduled for tomorrow.
