This is a COVID-19 informational update for Thursday, December 30th.
For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 242 new cases, 882 active cases, and 9 persons hospitalized.
Hawaii Island and the entire State of Hawaii are experiencing high rates of Coronavirus transmission. We are seeing community spread in our workplaces, within our families and at public and private gatherings. Be advised that Hawaii County has reduced the size of indoor gathers to slow the spread of the virus and prohibits social gatherings of more than 10 persons indoors.
Please do your part to protect our Ohana and followed the preventive measures of wearing face coverings, distancing, disinfecting your hands, limiting and avoiding gatherings, and staying home; especially when sick. If you feel sick or believe you may have been exposed to a positive case, please get tested.
For testing, the following County Community Testing operations are available today. In Hilo at the Afook Chinen Civic from 9 AM ‘til 2 PM and in Kau at the Pahala Community Center from 12 noon to 2 PM and at the Naalehu Community Center beginning at 3 PM ‘til 5 PM.
