This is a COVID-19 informational update for Monday, December 20th.

For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 26 new cases, 239 active cases, and 7 persons hospitalized.

As other areas are seeing a dramatic rise in the number of Covid-19 cases, Hawaii Island has seen a doubling of our new and active case numbers within a week.  As you celebrate the Holiday Season, please be reminded that the preventive measures of wearing face coverings, distancing, limiting gathering sizes, and staying home when sick are key to limiting the spread of the virus.  The Department of Health recommends getting vaccinated, or getting a booster shot, to protect yourself, your family, and friends.

For a comprehensive calendar and list of all pharmacies and clinics providing vaccination and testing please visit the Civil Defense website. www.hawaiicounty.gov

For questions regarding booster vaccination and vaccinations for 5 to 11 year olds, please contact your healthcare provider or visit the Department of Health website. https://hawaiicovid19.com/vaccine/

Thank you for listening and have a safe day.
