Connie Lau retiring, Scott Seu to be CEO of Hawaiian Electric Industries
Hawaiian Electric Industries announced today that Constance “Connie” Lau will retire and Scott Seu will take over as president and CEO of the state’s second biggest company on Jan. 1. Shelee Kimura, senior VP of customer service and public affairs at HEI’s subsidiary, Hawaiian Electric Co., will assume Seu’s roles as president and CEO of the utility, which supplies electricity to O‘ahu, Maui, Hawai‘i Island, Moloka‘i and Lāna‘i.
Multiple people injured in stabbing near Sunset Beach on O‘ahu’s North Shore
Honolulu police are investigating a stabbing in a home on O‘ahu’s North Shore that left multiple people injured Tuesday morning. Emergency Medical Services described the incident as “an apparent domestic emergency involving multiple patients.”
Las Vegas police captain selected as final candidate for Maui Police Chief
John Pelletier, a Las Vegas police captain, was selected by the Maui Police Commission in an unanimous vote Tuesday to move forward as the final candidate to lead the Maui Police Department. Pelletier would be the second Hawai‘i police chief from Nevada.
Hawai‘i reports 91 new Covid cases and no additional deaths
The state reported 91 new Covid-19 cases, the lowest number of infections in the state in recent weeks. The new cases bring the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to 80,414.
