This is a Civil Defense message.

This is a COVID-19 informational update for Saturday, September 18th.

For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 79 new cases and 1219 active cases, with 45 persons hospitalized.

Thank you for doing your part, whether getting vaccinated or following the preventive measures but we need to continue as the virus is still being transmitted within our community.  Please follow the preventive measures of wearing face coverings, maintaining physical distancing, limiting gatherings, and staying home when you are sick. 

For today, Saturday, testing and vaccination in Hilo at the Hilo Lanes from 9 am-2 pm and in Kona at the International Market from 9 am-1 pm and South Kohala at the Waimea District Park from 9 am-1 pm.

Testing will be offered at the Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium from 9 am – 1 pm.
