This is a COVID-19 informational update for Thursday, September 16th.

For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 96 new cases and 1310 active cases, with 49 persons hospitalized.

We all see a decline in numbers yet the medical facilities continue to operate over capacity which affects all our access to medical services.  Your help is needed to stop the spread.  Please continue to follow the preventive measures of wearing face coverings, maintaining physical distancing, and limiting gatherings, and staying home when you are sick.

For today, Thursday testing and vaccination in Hilo at the Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium from 11 in the morning ‘til 4 in the afternoon and testing in Kau at the Pahala Community Center from 12 ‘til 2 in the afternoon.

Know that other locations are conducting vaccination and testing.  For a comprehensive calendar and list of all clinics and pharmacies providing vaccination and testing, please visit the Civil Defense website.
