This is a COVID-19 informational update for Saturday, September 4th.
For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 128 new cases and 1818 active cases with 66 persons hospitalized.
Wide-spread community and travel related transmission of the Coronavirus is affecting our island and straining our medical resources to critical levels which affects everyone’s access to medical care. We must stop the spread of this virus. We all need to kokua and make an individual effort to limit activity to essential needs only. Stay home where possible. Always wear face masks, maintain physical distance, wash hands often, and avoiding social gatherings.
For today, Saturday, community testing and vaccination clinics are scheduled as follows;
In Hilo, testing at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium from 9 AM to 1 PM and at Hilo Lanes from 9 AM to 2 PM.
In Kona, vaccination and testing at Kona International Market from 9 AM to 1 PM.
And, in South Kohala, vaccination and testing at Waimea District Park from 12 PM to 4 PM.
