NEW YORK — More than 25 years after its original publication, former President Barack Obama’s memoir “Dreams from My Father” will be released in a young adult edition.
Hawaii Community Correctional Center reported three inmate recoveries bringing the total active inmate cases down to just five, the Department of Public Safety on Wednesday announced. In addition, there are no HCCC inmates in the hospital and there was also one staff recovery meaning there are no more active staff cases at the Hilo jail.
Big Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 25-year-old Timothy Michael Kaleo O’ Kalani Kahooilihala, who is wanted for an outstanding bench warrant and for questioning in connection with an assault that occurred in Hilo on Monday afternoon.
HONOLULU — A judge ruled she won’t appoint a special master just yet to make sure Hawaii officials are keeping inmates safe from COVID-19, but said she is troubled by allegations in a lawsuit describing “egregious conditions” at prisons and jails that led to virus outbreaks at five of the state’s eight prisons and jails.
Hawaii Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 54-year-old Brian Larimore of Kailua-Kona, who was reported missing and is in need of medication. Larimore was last seen on Thursday, July 08, 2021, at 10:15 a.m. in the 500 block of Palani Road, in Kailua-Kona. No foul play is suspected.
The Hawaii Police Department is warning the public that officers will issue citations to anyone who operates a dirt bike or all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on any public road on Hawaii Island. This includes state and county roads, as well as private roads open to the public. Police have identified areas they will be regularly patrolling.
