This is a COVID-19 informational update for Tuesday, June 15th.
For the County of Hawaii, the Department of Health reports 8 new cases with 180 active cases and 4 persons hospitalized.
For your information, while the vast majority of new Coronavirus cases are associated with inmates at the Hawaii Community Correctional Center in Hilo, there are small numbers of travel and community spread cases on our island. Because of this, as travel restrictions are lifted, it is important to continue following the mandates of wearing face coverings while indoors, distancing and limiting gatherings to 10 persons indoors and 25 outdoors.
On Coronavirus testing, a test is scheduled in Hilo at the Afook-Chinen Auditorium on Wednesday from 3 ‘til 6 in the afternoon.
The Department of Health, clinics, and pharmacies offer coronavirus vaccinations on a regularly basis. By being vaccinated, you are helping to keep your family and friends safe. For information regarding vaccination, please contact the Department of Health at 300-1120. You can also visit the Civil Defense website for a list of all clinics and pharmacies providing vaccinations and tests.
