This is a COVID-19 informational update for Wednesday, May 26th.
For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 9 new Coronavirus cases and is currently monitoring 61 active cases with 1 person hospitalized.
The Department of Health has scheduled a Johnson & Johnson single-dose walk-in vaccination clinic in two locations today. One is scheduled at Kona Aquatics in North Kona from 9:30 this morning to 2 PM. And, the other is scheduled at the Pahoa Community Center in Puna from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. Both of these walk-in vaccination clinics are open to those 18-years and older.
Vaccination is an important step toward protecting our community and in stopping the spread of COVID-19. The CDC recommends everyone 12 years-of-age and older get vaccinated. For more information regarding vaccination, please contact the Department of Health at 300-1120. You can also visit the Civil Defense website for a list of all clinics and pharmacies providing vaccinations and testing.
