This is a COVID-19 informational update for Friday, May 21st.
For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 3 new Coronavirus cases and is currently monitoring 56 active cases with 2 persons hospitalized.
The next scheduled testing will be on Saturday when a test is scheduled in North Kona at the West Hawaii Civic Center from 9 ‘til noon. This will be the last scheduled District Test at the Civic Center at this time.
An additional test and vaccination operation will be held at the HUB in Pahoa Saturday from 9 in the morning ‘til 1 in the afternoon. You may also go to community clinics and medical facilities for COVID-19 testing. Please call the clinic or facility before you go.
Vaccination is an important step toward protecting our community and in stopping the spread of COVID-19. The CDC recommends everyone 12 years-of-age and older get vaccinated to help keep their family, friends, and community safe.
For more information regarding vaccination, please contact the Department of Health at 300-1120. You can also visit the Civil Defense website for a list of all clinics and pharmacies providing vaccinations.
