This is a COVID-19 informational update for Tuesday, May 18th.
For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 0 new Coronavirus cases and is currently monitoring 54 active cases with 2 persons hospitalized.
The next scheduled testing will be on Wednesday when a test is scheduled in Hilo at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium from 3 to 6 in the afternoon. This will be the last scheduled District Test at the Civic at this time.
On Wednesday, the Department of Health is holding a walk in vaccination clinic for individuals 18 years-of-age and older at the Old Kona Airport Gym from 9:30 to 2:00 pm. This clinic will provide the single shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Vaccinating is an important step toward protecting our community and stopping the spread of COVID-19. The CDC recommends everyone 12 years and older get a COVID-19 vaccination to help keep your family, friends, and community safe.
