This is a Civil Defense message.

This is a COVID-19 informational update for Friday, May 14th.

For Hawaii County, the Department of Health reports 1 new Coronavirus case and is currently monitoring 59 active cases with 2 persons hospitalized.

As a reminder, the recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance for face masks does not replace State and local rules, regulations, or guidelines.  The preventive measures of face coverings, distancing, and limiting gatherings to no more than 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors remain in place for everyone.  The Please accept this kuleana to make Hawaii Safe for our families, friends and communities.

On testing for tomorrow, Saturday, a test is scheduled in North Kona at the West Hawaii Civic Center from 9 to noon.

If you have questions regarding vaccination, please contact the Department of Health at 300-1120. You can also visit the Civil Defense website for a list of all clinics and pharmacies providing vaccinations.
