This is a COVID-19 informational update for Wednesday, February 3rd.
The Hawaii Department of Health reports four (4) new cases of Coronavirus with two (2) persons hospitalized on Hawaii Island. There have been no deaths reported in the last five weeks.
We appreciate your patience with the vaccination process as vaccine production remains behind the demand to be vaccinated. The Department of Health and Healthcare providers continue to vaccinate those most vulnerable and First Responders who are likely to be exposed to the virus. Everyone who wants to be vaccinated will have the opportunity as vaccine production increases to meet the demand. Mahalo for your kokua.
The Hilo Medical Center (HMC), North Hawaii Community Hospital (QNHCH) and the Kona Community Hospital (KCH) continue to offer vaccine registration to individuals who are 75 and older. Please visit their websites for more information and to register.
Thank you for listening and have a safe day.
