This is a COVID-19 informational update for Saturday, January 30th

The Hawaii Department of Health reports eight (8) new cases of Coronavirus with two (2) persons hospitalized on Hawaii Island.  There have been no deaths reported in the last four weeks.

We appreciate your patience as we work through the vaccine process.  Currently, the most vulnerable population and First Responders with high risk to exposure are being vaccinated.  Opportunities for everyone who wants to be vaccinated will be made available as more vaccine becomes available.

The Hilo Medical Center (HMC), North Hawaii Community Hospital (QNHCH) and the Kona Community Hospital (KCH) are offering vaccine registration to individuals who are 75 and older.  Please visit their websites for more information and to register.

Hawaii residents 75 and older may also register for an appointment to be vaccinated by calling the Department of Health at 808-300-1120 from 9 AM until 3 PM Monday through Friday, except for holidays.

Thank you for listening and have a safe weekend.
