“This is a Civil Defense message.
This is a COVID-19 information update for Friday, May 22.
On today’s report of COVID-19, the total number of people tested positive on Hawaii Island is 82, out of this, 77 have been cleared as recovered with the remaining 5 quarantined and monitored by the Department of Health.
For your information there are two food drops scheduled for today. A food drop will be conducted today in North Hilo at the Papaaloa Community Center, hours are from 10 this morning till 12 noon. A food drop will also be held today in Hamakua at the Honoka’a Sports Complex, hours are from 1 this afternoon till 3 this afternoon. Be aware of the change, again hours are from 1 this afternoon till 3 this afternoon. Thank you, Hawaii Food Basket and all the contributors for making this possible and Hawaii National Guard, Hawaii County Police, and State Sherriff’s department for helping.
On this three-day weekend with opening of parks and beaches, know the importance of following the policies of distancing, gatherings, face coverings, cleanliness, and personal health. Pease do your part.
