Following weeks of acrimonious debate, the U.S. House of Representatives has impeached President Donald Trump on two offenses: abusing the power of his office and obstructing Congress in its investigation. Trump will face trial in the U.S. Senate sometime in January 2019. Trump is only the third president to face impeachment charges for “high crimes and misdemeanors”.
The formal analysis of this historic action by the U.S. House of Representatives comes from the Associated Press.
