Shark warning signs are being posted on both sides of Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park after a female swimmer was reportedly bitten by a shark this morning on the Napoopoo side of the bay in West Hawaii.

HONOLULU A Marine stationed in Hawaii has waived a military hearing scheduled for this week for allegations he tried to enter an Air Force base while off-duty and heavily armed in his home state of Nebraska.
Between Aug. 12 and Sunday, Hawaii Island police arrested 23 motorists for driving under the influence of an intoxicant. Six of the drivers were involved in a traffic accident. One of the drivers was under the age of 21.
Hawaii Island Police have arrested and charged a 29-year-old Hilo woman following a bizarre chase on a bicycle that ended in the apprehension in the waters at Coconut Island, police said in a news release.
