KAILUA-KONA — The Honokaa Pool remains closed several months after county officials had expected to reopen the facility to Hamakua residents.

Salary Commission nixes big raises

HILO — The county Salary Commission on Thursday rejected across-the-board average 6.1% raises for county officials, but settled on a 1.25% cost-of-living adjustment instead.

TMT supporters hold rally

HILO — Approximately 100 people gathered along Kanoelehua Avenue Thursday afternoon to show support for the Thirty Meter Telescope project, while hundreds more drivers gave appreciative honks in agreement.
