New police rigs ready to roll

KAILUA-KONA — New marked police SUVs are hitting Big Island streets, the first additions to the Hawaii Police Department’s fleet in over a decade.

KAILUA-KONA — Genki Sushi at Kona Commons reopened at 4 p.m. Friday, more than a month after state health officials shuttered the eatery after confirming complaints of cockroaches being seen inside the restaurant.

NHCH nurses, Queen’s reach tentative agreement

KAILUA-KONA — A tentative agreement has been reached between the union representing dozens of nurses at North Hawaii Community Hospital and The Queen’s Health Systems, averting a possible strike at the Waimea facility.
