Katherine Kealoha locked up after guilty verdict

HONOLULU — Two U.S. marshals led former deputy Honolulu prosecutor Katherine Kealoha out of a courtroom Friday when a U.S. judge ordered her detained after a jury found her guilty of conspiracy and he expressed concern that she could try to obstruct justice before being sentenced.

Electric company robocalls a scam

Phone scammers are targeting Hawaiian Electric Light Co. customers, directing them to make GObank payments at a convenience store to pay their “overdue” bills.

Visitor arrivals up, expenditures down

As the second half of the year begins, tourism numbers are beginning to trend noticeably upward compared to last year.
