Police seek missing teen

Police are looking for leads on the whereabouts of a 16-year-old girl reported missing from the Honokaa town area since Jan. 16.

JoAnn Bishaw, 68, of Hilo died Jan. 15 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., she was a homemaker. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 24) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by husband, Reginald Bishaw Jr. of Hilo; son, Colin Metzler of Nebraska; daughters, Regine Bishaw of Honolulu and Shallan (Joshua) Duke of Idaho; brother, Jeff Metzler of Kailua-Kona; sister, Jeanne Dunwoodie of Reno, Nev.; mother-in-law, the Rev. Elizabeth Nalimu Kekaualua Bishaw of Hilo; five grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Attempted murder charge in Fern Forest stabbing

CORRECTION Jan. 21, 6 p.m: Rescia is charged with attempted second-degree murder and second-degree assault. A previous version of this story incorrectly stated he is charged with first-degree assault. The Tribune-Herald regrets the error.
