Faculty, staff urge UH to reject TMT plans
With the legal fight against the Thirty Meter Telescope appearing to be over, University of Hawaii faculty, staff and students took their case to the public Wednesday in a press conference on the UH Manoa campus. They vowed to continue the fight while demanding UH President David Lassner, the Board of Regents and TMT International Observatory terminate their agreements for construction. Star-Advertiser.

Energy experts discuss grid resiliency, redesign against external threats
In the aftermath this year’s natural disasters, energy leaders in Hawaii say resiliency is critical. As checkpoints come down in Leilani Estates, residents face uncertainty
Residents say there are still concerns for air quality and water quality. And there’s questions of new visitors to the neighborhood once the check points come down. At midnight on December 6, county officials say two checkpoints will come down. The first is on Highway 132 near Nanawale, and on Highway 130 at Leilani Avenue. KHON2.
