Comment: A 7.0 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Alaska did not generate a Pacific wide tsunami. Here’s the update from the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency:
This is a Civil Defense message for Friday, November 30 at 7:50 in the morning.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reports an earthquake has occurred on the Kenai Penisula in Alaska at 7:39 am. The earthquake had a reported magnitude of 7.0.
There is no tsunami threat to the state and island of Hawai`i. I say again, there is no tsunami threat to the state and island of Hawai`i.
You will be informed as conditions change.
