TMT opponents want high court to reconsider ruling

Opponents of the Thirty Meter Telescope are getting some help from other Native Hawaiian leaders and a former state Supreme Court justice in their request for reconsideration of a recent ruling in favor of the $1.4 billion project.

Celebrating makahiki

Team Molokai celebrates after a win in the game hukihuki (tug of war) Wednesday during their Makahiki Celebration at Na Wai Ola Public Charter School in Mountain View. The celebration included a day of hula, Hawaiian games, food and entertainment. “On this day, the culture is alive as Na Wai Ola celebrates their annual makahiki,” said education director Jason Wong.
