Man wanted in connection with assault

KAILUA-KONA — A 34-year-old Kona man is being sought by police following a Monday morning assault at a Kaiminani Drive home that sent two to the hospital.

Grant to help clear rape kit backlog

Hawaii County, the birthplace of an actress’ initiative devoted to DNA testing of rape kits, is getting a federal grant to bring in experts to clear out its rape kit backlog.
