Obituaries for September 28

Elizabeth Kapeka Akao, 94, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 4 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Honolulu, she was a housekeeper at the former Kona Palms Hotel, homemaker and member of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Celebration of life service 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Kalaoa, Kona. Survived by daughters, Elizabeth (Francis) Waiau of Kailua-Kona; Clara (Morris Jr.) Graciidis of Kailua-Kona; son, Philip (Diane) Akao of Kailua-Kona; daughter-in-law, Doreen Akao of Kailua-Kona; stepdaughter, Annette (Buster) Causey of South Carolina; stepson, Carolina (late-Francis) Akao of Kohala; stepdaughter-in-law, Marasaline Akao of Hilo; hanai daughter Georgiann (Eric) Lauronal of Kailua-Kona; hanai son, Francis Akao of Kailua-Kona; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary.
