Big Island candidates hit with fines

Fourteen Big Island candidates are among dozens throughout the state settling with the Campaign Spending Commission after they failed to disclose how much they spent on advertising leading up to the primary election.

Police arrest 22 for DUI

During the week of Sept. 3-9, Hawaii Island police arrested 22 motorists for DUI. Six of the drivers were involved in a traffic accident. Two of the drivers were under the age of 21.
