A 6.6 magnitude earthquake southeast of the Loyalty Islands at 9:32 a.m. (HST) did not generate a Pacific wide tsunami. Here’s the report from the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency:
This is a Civil Defense message for Monday, September 10 at 10:00 in the morning.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reports an earthquake has occurred southeast of Loyalty Islands at 9:32am. The earthquake had a reported magnitude of 6.6.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reports there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii Island.
Again, there is NO Tsunami Threat to Hawaii Island.
We are on watch 24-hours a day for your safety.
