Here’s the current status of Hurricane Olivia, which is on track to cross the northern part of Hawaii Island Tuesday or Wednesday.
“This is a Civil Defense Hurricane Olivia update for Saturday, September 8 at 12:30 in the afternoon.
The Central Pacific Hurricane Center reports that as of 11:00 am, Hurricane Olivia is a Category 1 hurricane, 1025 miles E of Hilo with sustained winds of 85 mph, moving W at 15 mph.
It is too early to know what effects, if any, this hurricane will have on Hawaii Island. There are no warnings or advisories in effect at this time.
