Here’s the latest KHON2 News video and commentary on Hurricane/Tropical Storm Lane, which is slowly pulling away from the State of Hawaii.  Although the storm has weakened considerably over the past two days, it has drawn in copious amounts of moisture, leading to heavy showers. flooding, landslides, and gusty winds on Maui and Hawaii Island.

Updated Hawaii Island road and highway conditions can be found here:  http://www.hawaiicounty.gov/2018-hurricane-map.  Please be advised that many roads have sustained damage and will require careful attention as you drive.  Highway maintenance crews have identified most trouble spots with road cones, but some hazardous areas may remain unidentified.

The Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency will issue bulletins as needed via local broadcast stations, SMS message services, and through the social media.
