Here’s the latest scoop on Hurricane Lane from the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency.
This is a Civil Defense hurricane update for Tuesday, August 21 at 5:00 in the evening.
The Central Pacific Hurricane Center has issued a Hurricane Warning for Hawaii County. A Hurricane Warning is issued when hurricane conditions of damaging winds, damaging surf, and flooding rains are possible within 36 hours.
A high surf warning with extreme ocean surges and large breaking waves is also in effect for south facing shores of Ka’u and Kona.
