A magnitude 6.5 earthquake occurred off the coast of Alaska. Thankfully, no Pacific wide tsunami was generted by this temblor. Here’s the report from the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency:

This is a earthquake update for Wednesday, August 15 at 12:15 PM.
Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reports a 6.5 magnitude earthquake occurred today at 11:57 AM HST latitude 51.3 north, longitude 178.1 west near Andreanof Island, Alaska. There is NO TSUNAMI THREAT to Hawaii. Again, there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT to Hawaii.
