A portion of Railroad Avenue in Hilo has been closed while highway personnel clean up a cooking oil spill.
This is a Civil Defense road closure update for Thursday, August 9 at 3:30 in the afternoon.
The Hawaii Police Department reports that Lama Street, between Railroad Ave and Kalo Street in Hilo, is open to local traffic only due to a waste cooking oil spill. Crews are working to clean up this spill and re-open the road. Clean up will require several hours.
