One of Old A rape suspects pleads guilty

KAILUA-KONA — A 17-year-old boy is facing 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in 3rd Circuit Court for crimes committed during a 2016 rape at Old Kona Airport Park.

Police arrest 14 motorists for suspected DUI

KAILUA-KONA — Hawaii Island police arrested 14 motorists for suspected drunken driving between July 9 and Sunday. Four of those drivers were involved in a traffic crash and one was younger than age 21.

HVO: Lava about half-mile from Isaac Hale park

The southern boundary of the flow front at the ocean entry of lava from Kilauea volcano’s lower East Rift Zone remained a little more than a half-mile away from Isaac Hale Beach Park and Pohoiki boat ramp on Sunday, according to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
