HPD searching for missing teen

KAILUA-KONA — Hawaii Island police are asking for the public’s help locating a 13-year-old boy who apparently ran away from home.

Afternoon update: Slow winds bringing vog to island interior

The National Weather Service reported at 1:30 today that slow, easterly winds are expected to bring vog to the island interior starting tonight, and over the next two days. Volcanic gas output and ash emissions may increase, affecting air quality across the central and southern half of the island. The trades are expected to pick up again by the weekend.

2nd annual Career Expo today

KAILUA-KONA — Continuing to make the search easier for serious job seekers, West Hawaii Today, in partnership with the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce and Kona Commons, is hosting the Big Island’s second annual Career Expo from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.
