Early Wednesday morning (11 October 2017), Honolulu Fire Department Jet Ski crews transferred fisherman from the 79-foot “Pacific Princess” to a 45-foot Coast Guard Response Boat. The fishing vessel apparently ran aground off Diamond Head Tuesday evening. No one was injured during the incident.
According to the Coast Guard, the grounded vessel had 13,000 gallons of diesel fuel on board as well as lube and hydraulic oils. No pollution has been detected.
The Coast Guard is working with the boat owner to get a salvage plan into operation.
