According to the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, North Korea launched another missile Tuesday (Korean time) that flew over Japan and plunged into the northern Pacific Ocean. The missile traveled approximately 1,677 miles and reached an altitude of 341 miles as it crossed over the northern Japanese Island of Hokaido.
Some military experts believe the recent launch “will rattle a region worried that each new missile test puts North Korea a step closer toward its goal of having an arsenal of nuclear missiles that can reliably target the United States.”
ICBMs currently being tested by North Korea can already reach Hawaii, Alaska, and the west coast of the United States.
