Here comes another vehicle recall. This time, it’s Fiat Chrysler’s turn to warn drivers of unsafe cars. The recall involves 1.1 million cars and SUVs world wide that have defective shifters. According to Fiat Chrysler, drivers with the bad shifters “can’t tell if they’ve put their vehicles in park.” Affected vehicles could rollaway by accident. Fiat Chryser says 40 people have been injured from the defect.
The modela affected by the recall are: 2012-2014 Dodge Chargers, Chrysler 300 sedans, and the 2014-2015 Jeep Gran Cherokee SUV.
Owners of the defective vehicles will be contacted. Dealers will update the shifters “so vehicles won’t move once the driver exits the vehicle.”
