Here’s the latest update on the ongoing dengue fever outbreak on Hawaii Island. As of Monday, 11 April 2016, the number of dengue fever cases is holding steady at 263, with 237 island residents and 26 visitors affected by the mosquito-borne illness. Hawaii County Civil Defense officials add that “the outbreak remains active and is not anticipated over anytime in the near future.”  If you have questions about dengue fever and how to stop its spread, please call the Department of Health at 974-6001.
