Hawaii ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro is hitting the concert stage with the Hawaii Symphony on Saturday, 06 June 2015, 2 p.m. and on Sunday, 07 June 2015, 4 p.m. in a premiere performance of “The Concerto for Ukulele and Orchestra.” Shimabukuro is already scheduled to perform this modern “classical” piece this fall with The Colorado Symphony Orchestra, The Virginia Symphony, and the Buffalo Philharmonic. This is quite a coup for the young musician who has performed mostly local music during his brief musical career. The Hawaii performances will be given at Honolulu’s Neil S. Blaisdell Concert Center.
