According to "Hawaii Tribune-Herald" reporter Tom Callis, crews are building two alternate routes in Lower Puna as a slow moving lava flow continued its advance toward Pahoa town and Highway 130. Hawaii County Civil Defense Administrator Darryl Oliveira said  workers have begun clearing, widening, and leveling Government Beach Road and an abandoned stretch of Railroad Avenue between Hawaiian Beaches and Hawaiian Paradise Park.  Oliveira said the roads will be needed if the highway between Pahoa is covered by lava, "an event that could happen in weeks if the June 27th flow continues its march."  Oliveira said the roads could become available by 24 September or sooner if the lava threat intensifies.  Aloha, Russ.
