Utah-based Vivint Solar has become one of Hawaii’s top solar energy companies because of the way it markets and maintains its customers.  CEO Greg Butterfield told "Pacific Business News" that his company has enjoyed success because it offers customers a leasing option, where it installs and runs the solar photovoltaic system "so customers don’t have to pay for upfront cost, a big barrier to installations."  According to Butterfield, customers "lock in" a set rate that’s "lower than what they pay the electric utility."  With lease agreements lasting up to 20 years, Vivint plans to be in Hawaii a long time.  Aloha, Russ.
