According to Maui Lifeguard officials, two or three women standup paddle boarders were a quarter mile offshore of Mana Kai Beach when they spotted the shark.
A beach closed by the Maui Department of Land and Natural Resources on Sunday afternoon following a shark sighting has been reopened. According to Maui lifeguard officials, several women standup paddle boarders spotted the aggressive shark about a quarter-mile offshore of Mana Kai Beach. The shark left the area before anyone was injured. The beach was reopened at 3 p.m. Sunday. Aloha, Russ.
