Honolulu Star-Advertiser
Hawaii County police identified a 52-year-old Kona man who died Wednesday after the truck he was driving crossed the center line and hit the embankment on the shoulder of the road.
Hawaii Island police have identified the driver of a pickup truck that died following a traffic accident on the Queen Kaahumanu Highway between mile markers 71 and 72. Police said 52-year-old Matthew B. Lee was driving his Ford F-250 pickup truck when the vehicle crossed the center line, hit a Dodge sedan, and struck an embankment. No one in the Dodge Dart sedan was injured. Police believe speed and alcohol were not factors in the fatal accident. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death. Aloha, Russ.
