Anti-GMO rally attracts hundreds

The protest comes several weeks before the opening of the Hawaii legislature, where protestors plan to introduce a number of anti-GMO measures.

On Sunday, a crowd of anti GMO activists, estimated to be around 1,000, gathered at Haleiwa Beach Park to plan strategy for the upcoming legislative session. The message was clear: no more GMO crops or pesticides on Hawaii fields. Earlier, Kauai and Hawaii Island passed laws restricting GMOs and requiring stricter labels for agricultural pesticides.
